Gambhir lauds Operation Sindoor After India’s Asia Cup win against Pakistan<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n

After India\u2019s thumping 7-wicket win over Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 on Sunday, head coach Gautam Gambhir expressed his solidarity with the families of the Pahalgam terrorist attack victims. Speaking with the broadcasters, the Indian head coach also thanked the Indian armed forces for successfully executing Operation Sindoor.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a team, we wanted to show solidarity to victims of the Pahalgam attack. Thanks to our soldiers for Operation Sindoor,” Gambhir said.<\/p>\n

Gambhir\u2019s statement came after skipper Suryakumar Yadav dedicated India\u2019s Asia Cup win against Pakistan to the Indian Armed Forces. Speaking at the post-match presentation, Suryakumar said the Indian cricket team stands in solidarity with the victims of the unfortunate terrorist attack that happened earlier this year, in April.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust wanted to say something. Perfect occasion, taking the time out, we stand by the victims of the families of the Pahalgam terror attack. We express our solidarity. Want to dedicate the win to all our armed forces who showed a lot of bravery. Hope they continue to inspire us all and we give them more reasons on the ground whenever we get an opportunity to make them smile,” the Indian captain said.<\/p>\n

India Beat Pakistan By 7 Wickets<\/strong><\/p>\n

Earlier, Sahibzada Farhan scored a valiant 40 off 44 balls, but the rest of the Pakistani batters cut a sorry figure on a docile track. Shaheen Afridi hit a 16-ball 33 not out towards the end to take Pakistan past 125. Spinners Kuldeep Yadav (3\/18) and Axar Patel (2\/18) helped India restrict Pakistan to 127 for nine after Salman Agha opted to bat first.<\/p>\n

In reply, India completed the chase in 15.5 overs with skipper Suryakumar Yadav (47 not out off 37 balls), Abhishek Sharma (31 off 13) and Tilak Varma (31 off 31) making significant contributions.<\/p>\n

No Handshakes After The Match<\/strong><\/p>\n

At the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday, there were no handshakes or post-match chats between India and Pakistan players. After sealing victory with a six off Sufiyan Muqeem, Suryakumar Yadav simply gestured to Shivam Dube and both walked straight to the dressing room, reflecting the serious mood.<\/p>\n
