Shaheen Shah Afridi got everyone on their toes in the India-Pakistan Asia Cup 2025 clash in Dubai on Sunday. But unlike always, it wasn\u2019t with the ball but with the willow.<\/p>\n

The left-handed tailender smashed 33 off 16 from number nine, hitting as many as four maximums. Two of those sixes came against spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakaravarthy, and the other half was against Hardik Pandya in the last over of the innings. On ball 19.3, Pandya missed a yorker and ended up hurling a low full toss. Afridi was quick to get under it and managed to time it down the ground over long off.<\/p>\n

As the six was going over the night sky, the camera panned to the Indian captain and birthday boy Suryakumar Yadav, who made a pout, as if to say, \u2018Fair play, that six is deserved\u2019. Check it here:<\/p>\n

Pakistan get to 127\/9 after early jitters<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Kuldeep Yadav\u2019s skill, Axar Patel\u2019s precision, and Varun Chakravarthy\u2019s cleverness restricted Pakistan to a mere 127 for nine, allowing India to dominate the first half of the Asia Cup group match on Sunday.<\/p>\n

The Indian team highlighted the significant difference in quality between the two nations.<\/p>\n

Spinners Axar (2\/18 in 4 overs), Kuldeep (3\/18 in 4 overs), and Varun (1\/24 in 4 overs) were flawless in their execution, leaving the Pakistani batters struggling to counter their techniques. The outcome was predictable with no surprises.<\/p>\n

Combined, Axar, Kuldeep, and Varun bowled 40 dot balls, and Bumrah added another 15, showcasing the Pakistani batters\u2019 struggle.<\/p>\n

Hence, Afridi\u2019s unbeaten 33 off 16 balls with brilliant hitting barely pushed the score past 125.<\/p>\n

Suryakumar Yadav lost the toss and didn\u2019t shake hands with his counterpart Salman Ali Agha but maintained control as Pakistani batters faltered from the start when Saim Ayub (0) edged Hardik Pandya (1\/34 in 3 overs) to Bumrah at point.<\/p>\n

Bumrah (2\/28 in 4 overs) in the next over dismissed Mohammad Haris (3) who tried to pull but was caught by Pandya at fine leg.<\/p>\n

Sahibzada Farhan (40 off 44 balls) managed a couple of sixes off Bumrah but failed to read the Indian spinners, accumulating numerous dot balls.<\/p>\n

Poor shot selection and lack of technique plagued the Pakistani batters against top Indian spinners.<\/p>\n

Only Fakhar Zaman (17 off 15 balls) took risks against Axar, given his favourable record against slow left-arm bowlers. Fakhar attempted a big shot but was caught by Tilak Varma at long-on.<\/p>\n

Struggling to read the Indian wrist spinners, Pakistani batters resorted to high-risk slog sweeps. Salman (3 off 12 balls) and Hasan Nawaz attempted hits without judging the length and bounce.<\/p>\n

Mohammed Nawaz found Kuldeep\u2019s googly challenging, and Farhan, who never dominated the spinners, was caught in the deep off Kuldeep, continuing Pakistan\u2019s troubles against India in multilateral events.<\/p>\n
