The DJ at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium made a mistake on Sunday, playing the wrong song instead of the Pakistan national anthem.<\/p>\n

The players were left a bit shocked.<\/p>\n

Pakistan captain Salman Agha won the toss and chose to bat against India in their Asia Cup Group A match.<\/p>\n

India\u2019s skipper, Suryakumar Yadav, who turned 35 on Sunday, mentioned he was satisfied with the outcome of the toss. \u201c\u201cWe were looking to bowl first, happy with it. We played just one strip away, which was a nice wicket and better to bat on in the night. It\u2019s humid, so hoping for some dew,” he said.<\/p>\n

Salman Agha expressed contentment with his decision to bat first, a surprising choice given Dubai\u2019s reputation as a chasing-friendly venue. \u201cWe\u2019ve been playing good cricket, very excited. Looks like a slow wicket. Just want to bat first and put runs on the board. Have been here for 20-odd days and are used to the conditions,” he stated.<\/p>\n

The captains though did not shake hands after the toss.<\/p>\n

Both teams come into this match after dominant victories in their opening matches, with no changes to their playing XIs. India convincingly defeated the UAE by nine wickets, while Pakistan secured a 93-run win over Oman in their first game.<\/p>\n

This match in Dubai marks the first international cricket encounter between India and Pakistan since heightened diplomatic tensions earlier this year. The game follows a deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam that resulted in 26 casualties, prompting India to launch Operation Sindoor against terror infrastructure across the border and in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.<\/p>\n

According to a notification from the Union Sports Ministry, India can compete against Pakistan in \u201cinternational and multilateral events”, but bilateral sports events in each other\u2019s country are prohibited.<\/p>\n
