Pathum Nissanka scored 50 runs, while Kamil Mishara remained unbeaten with 46, leading Sri Lanka to a six-wicket victory against Bangladesh in their Group B match of the Asia Cup on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Sri Lanka successfully chased Bangladesh\u2019s total of 139 for five, finishing at 140 for four in 14.4 overs with 32 balls and six wickets to spare.<\/p>\n

Despite Mustafizur Rahman\u2019s early breakthrough, dismissing Kusal Mendis (3) in the second over, Bangladesh\u2019s seamers failed to put further pressure or restrict the flow of runs. Sri Lanka reached 55 for one in the power play.<\/p>\n

Mishara had his luck when Mahedi Hasan dropped a tough catch off Shoriful Islam in the fifth over, with Mishara only on one run. He capitalised on the opportunity by hitting Islam for 18 runs in the same over, including two fours and a six.<\/p>\n

Nissanka started strong with a six over midwicket, achieving his first half-century against Bangladesh and completing 2,000 runs in T20Is. He scored 50 off 34 balls, including six fours and a six.<\/p>\n

Nissanka\u2019s 95-run partnership with Mishara for the second wicket ended when he was caught by Islam off Mahedi Hasan, who later trapped Kusal Perera leg-before, finishing with figures of 4-0-29-2.<\/p>\n

Sri Lanka experienced a brief collapse, losing wickets quickly from 108 for one to 126 for four. However, Charith Asalanka (10 not out) and Mishara steadied the innings and ensured victory.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Shamim Hossain (42 not out) and Jaker Ali (41 not out) rescued Bangladesh from a precarious position, guiding them to 139 for five after being 54 for five midway through their innings. Their unbeaten 86-run partnership for the sixth wicket was crucial.<\/p>\n

Sri Lanka started strongly with two consecutive wicket-maidens, maintaining pressure on Bangladesh. Nuwan Thushara dismissed Tanzid Hasan Tamim (0) in the first over, and Dushmantha Chameera had Parvez Emon (0) caught behind in the second.<\/p>\n

A highlight was Kamil Mishara\u2019s throw from deep square leg, running out Towhid Hridoy (8) in the fifth over. Litton Das (28) attacked Dasun Shanaka in the final over of the powerplay, hitting three boundaries, but Sri Lanka remained dominant.<\/p>\n

Wanindu Hasaranga (2\/25) continued the pressure, challenging the Bangladesh batters. Shamim and Jaker managed to punish loose deliveries and rotate the strike, forming a vital partnership.<\/p>\n
