Durban Super Giants (DSG) have announced Aiden Markram as their captain for the upcoming SA20 2025-26 season. The franchise unveiled the news on Saturday with a creative AI-generated video that showed him steering a ship through stormy waters towards calmer seas.<\/p>\n

Markram is no stranger to leadership in the SA20. He guided Sunrisers Eastern Cape to back-to-back titles in 2023 and 2024, establishing himself as one of the league\u2019s most reliable captains. Beyond franchise cricket, he also leads South Africa\u2019s T20I side, further strengthening his credentials as a proven leader.<\/p>\n

The 30-year-old was one of the most sought-after players in this year\u2019s SA20 auction. After parting ways with Sunrisers Eastern Cape, he sparked a fierce bidding war, eventually landing at DSG for a record 14 million rand. The figure briefly stood as the highest in league history before Pretoria Capitals secured Dewald Brevis for 16.5 million rand.<\/p>\n
