In a fresh escalation of the language row, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) workers have put up provocative posters targeting BJP MP Nishikant Dubey in Thane on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

The latest poster campaign signals that the political and cultural clash over language is far from over in Maharashtra, with the MNS intensifying its rhetoric and BJP leaders facing strong backlash.<\/p>\n

The large posters show Dubey being drowned in the sea, with bold text that reads, \u201cThe arrogance of enforcing Hindi will be brought down.”<\/p>\n

Another line says, \u201cDubo Dubo Ke Marenge, Maharashtra aao<\/em>” (We\u2019ll drown Dubey, come to Maharashtra).<\/p>\n

This comes days after MNS chief Raj Thackeray made a strong statement at a rally in Mira Road, saying, \u201cDubey will be drowned again and again in Mumbai\u2019s sea.” The poster directly references this comment and adds a visual punch to the political spat.<\/p>\n

The poster has been credited to local MNS leader Swapnil Mahendarkar, whose name appears on the hoarding.<\/p>\n

The row began after Dubey reportedly said, \u201cMarathi logon ko hum yahan patak patak ke marenge<\/em>” (We will thrash Maharashtrians here), in response to Raj Thackeray\u2019s earlier remarks. His comment drew strong criticism from across Maharashtra.<\/p>\n

Women MPs from Maharashtra even surrounded Dubey in Parliament recently, demanding an explanation. He quickly backed down and said, \u201cJai Maharashtra<\/em>.”<\/p>\n

The MNS, known for its aggressive \u2018sons of the soil\u2019 stand, has long opposed what it sees as the forced imposition of Hindi over regional languages. The party has previously made headlines for confrontations\u2014sometimes violent\u2014against people from other states who do not speak Marathi.<\/p>\n

Raj Thackeray has continued to defend his party\u2019s actions, saying he is \u201cproud of his soldiers.”<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has condemned such incidents, stating that violence over language differences is not acceptable.<\/p>\n
