Montell Jordan’s prostate cancer was initially detected in early 2024 through a PSA test.<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n

R&B singer Montell Jordan\u2019s cancer has returned nearly a year after his prostate was removed. On Wednesday, the 56-year-old said follow-up scans showed cancer in his lymph nodes.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought I would be telling my prostate cancer story from the other side of prostate cancer because I had a radical prostatectomy. My prostate was removed, and there were clear margins,” the \u2018Let\u2019s Ride\u2019 star said on the TODAY show. \u201cClose to a year post-prostatectomy, I still need to go back and have additional treatments because it\u2019s been detected that there is still cancer.”<\/p>\n

This is a type of cancer that originates in the prostate gland, a small, walnut-shaped organ located below the bladder and in front of the rectum in men. This gland produces fluid that nourishes and transports sperm. Prostate cancer occurs when cells in the prostate begin to grow uncontrollably, forming a tumour, according to the National Cancer Institute.<\/p>\n

It is the most common cancer among men in the United States and the second leading cause of cancer death in American men. While prostate cancer can develop at any age, it is more common in older men, particularly those over 65, as per Medline.<\/p>\n

Prostate cancer often develops slowly and may not present symptoms in its early stages. As the disease progresses, certain signs may show.<\/p>\n
