India\u2019s Test captain and T20I vice-captain, Shubman Gill\u2019s two-word Instagram post has gone viral on social media, after his team romped to a nine-wicket win against a hapless UAE side in their Asia Cup opener in Dubai on Wednesday. Gill didn\u2019t have much batting to do on the day, with the hosts bowled out for just 57 runs.<\/p>\n

Star India batter Abhishek Sharma (30 off 16 balls) continued his blazing run in the company of best friend Gill<\/a> (20 not out off nine), who looked in ominous touch on his return to T20s as well.<\/p>\n

Gill had last played a T20I in July 2024, against Sri Lanka. Since then, he was out of the T20I team, focusing more on Tests and ODIs and his return and appointment as vice-captain at the Asia Cup was met with a lot of flak.<\/p>\n

\u201cStep one \ud83c\uddee\ud83c\uddf3\ud83e\ude75,” Gill posted on his Instagram handle on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n

Captain Suryakumar Yadav also posted on his social media handles.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe wait was worth it \ud83d\ude4c\ud83c\udffcBack on the field and starting with a win \ud83c\uddee\ud83c\uddf3\ud83d\udc99,” Surykumar posted.<\/p>\n

\u201cClinical performance from the boys, we wanted good attitude and energy on the field and that is what we got. Recently lot of the boys were here for the Champions Trophy, the wicket looked good but it was on the slower side and the spinners have a role here,” Suryakumar said while speaking at the post-match presentation ceremony.<\/p>\n

That the game would end way before time was clear once skipper Suryakumar won the toss and elected to field.<\/p>\n

The bowling plans laid by head coach Gautam Gambhir and Suryakumar were well executed by the unit, with the Dubai pitch helping the skilful Indian spinners.<\/p>\n
