Emraan Hashmi gave the biggest gift to his fans on his recent birthday as he announced the sequel to his 2007 cult-classic Awarapan. Now, a new report suggests that Disha Patani has joined the film as the lead opposite Emraan Hashmi<\/a>, and much like the first part, this one too is going to be an intense love story.<\/p>\n

As per a report in Pinkvilla, Mukesh Bhatt and Nitin Kakkar have roped in Disha Patani to play the female lead of Awarapan 2 opposite Emraan. The portal quoted a source saying, \u201cMuch like Awarapan, the sequel too is an intense love story, set against the backdrop of the gangster world. The spirit of the first part is intact, and the makers are expanding the world into a sequel format with 2x the romance and 2x the emotions. Emraan Hashmi will be playing Shivam Pandit, whereas details of Disha\u2019s character have been kept under wraps.”<\/p>\n

Awarapan 2 Announcement<\/strong><\/p>\n

On his birthday, Emraan had announced the sequel to his 2007 much-loved romance drama.<\/a> The clip also features Emraan\u2019s iconic character from the film, standing on a boat, looking at the sun setting behind the city\u2019s skyline. Emraan is also seen setting a bird free from the cage, while he narrates, \u201cKisi aur ki zindagi ke liye marna hi meri manzil hai (To die for someone else\u2019s life is my destiny).” \u201cAwarapan 2, The journey continues,” reads the text at the end of the teaser. The song Tera Mera Rishta from the 2007 film plays in the background. The actor shared the teaser and announced that the sequel will release in theatres in 2026. \u201cBas mujhe kuch aur der zinda rakh\u2026 #Awarapan2 in cinemas, 3rd April 2026. #Awarapan2,” read the caption.<\/p>\n

Awarapan 2\u2019s announcement left fans excited. Reacting to the news, fans showed their love. \u201cBday gift de diya bhai ne, most awaited Awarapan, watching in theater,” wrote one fan, while another commented, \u201cDamn !!!!!! I just can\u2019t wait !!!!!” Many others expressed their excitement for the film\u2019s music, while others wished Emraan a happy birthday.<\/p>\n

Helmed by Mohit Suri, Awarapan, produced by Mukesh Bhatt, released in 2007. The film starred Emraan Hashmi, Shriya Saran, Mrinalini Sharma, and Ashutosh Rana. While the film failed to perform well at the box office when it released, it eventually came to be regarded as one of Emraan\u2019s best works.
