Star Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has spent the last few days in Mumbai consulting medical experts, over a month after he fractured his foot during the fourth Test against England during the five-match series, which India creditably drew 2-2, according to a report in\u00a0Cricbuzz.<\/em><\/p>\n

Pant<\/a> has returned to the country after a small stay abroad and will soon move to the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru for his rehab.<\/p>\n

While the results of his foot test are yet to be disclosed, Pant, one of India\u2019s top batters across formats, is aiming to make his comeback in October\u2019s home series against the Windies.<\/p>\n

Fresh from England, Pant underwent an assessment to monitor the progress of his injured foot, which is still strapped, according to the report. The report adds that doctors in Mumbai have given Pant a timeline for returning to the Centre of Excellence for rehab.<\/p>\n

Pant suffered a foot injury after being struck by a Chris Woakes ball on the opening day of the Manchester (fourth) Test in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, forcing him to retire hurt.<\/p>\n

Pant was on 37 when he got injured. He returned the next day with his foot strapped and added crucial runs for the side.\u00a0Because of the injury, he missed the fifth and final Test at The Oval.<\/p>\n

Pant remained in England after the series ended and returned to India just a few days ago, according to the report.<\/p>\n

India head coach Gautam Gambhir lauded Pant\u2019s bravery, saying that \u201cany amount of praise isn\u2019t enough for him”, but added that injury replacements should be allowed in such instances.<\/p>\n
