Tushar Jalota\u2019s romantic drama Param Sundari continues its dream run at the box office. Starring Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor<\/a> in lead roles, the film opened to mixed-to-positive reviews from both critics and moviegoers. While some praised Sidharth and Janhvi\u2019s romantic chemistry, a section of viewers had varied opinions about the film\u2019s predictable plot.<\/p>\n

Coming to its box office collection, Param Sundari has crossed the Rs 45-crore mark in India even after facing stiff competition from Vivek Agnihotri\u2019s The Bengal Files, Tiger Shroff\u2019s Baaghi 4, and Hollywood\u2019s horror franchise The Conjuring. As per industry tracker Sacnilk, the romantic drama has earned approximately Rs 2.5 crore on its 10th day.<\/p>\n

Param Sundari\u2019s Box Office Collection<\/strong><\/p>\n

The romantic drama had an impressive opening weekend, earning Rs 26.75 crore net at the Indian box office. Param Sundari minted Rs 7.25 crore on Friday, August 29. Following this, the film saw a jump of 30 per cent during the weekend. It collected Rs 9.25 crore on Saturday and Rs 10.25 crore on Sunday. Over its first week, the film earned an estimated Rs 39 crore in India and Rs 62.75 crore worldwide.<\/p>\n

The second week saw a noticeable dip midweek, recording its lowest numbers of Rs 1.75 crore on day 8 and Rs 2 crore on day 9. But its collection on Sunday increased, bringing its total domestic collection to around Rs 46 crore.<\/p>\n

Param Sundari\u2019s occupancy rate<\/strong><\/p>\n

On Sunday, September 7, the film recorded an overall occupancy rate of 45.60 per cent in theatres. While morning shows saw 19.44 per cent occupancy, the afternoon shows drew 53.89 per cent footfall. Evening shows pulled the most crowds, recording a footfall of 67.38 per cent. Night shows, on the other hand, saw 41.70 per cent occupancy.<\/p>\n

Param Sundari\u2019s cast and storyline<\/strong><\/p>\n

Directed by Tushar Jalota and backed by Maddock Films, Param Sundari blends romance with cultural nuances. It depicts the story of a wealthy Delhi entrepreneur, Param (Sidharth Malhotra), who invests his father\u2019s money into new startups. His ambitions lead him to Soulmates, an AI-powered matchmaking app, where he connects with Sundari (played by Janhvi Kapoor), a traditional girl from Kerala who runs her family\u2019s homestay along with her uncle, a Kalari Payattu expert.<\/p>\n

What happens next is how Param\u2019s urban lifestyle clashes with Sundari\u2019s rural world. Viewers get to see their journey filled with love, laughter, cultural differences and emotions. Alongside Sidharth and Janhvi, the film also features Inayat Verma, Sanjay Kapoor and Manjot Singh in key roles.<\/p>\n
