Mercedes-Benz India has reduced the price of its Long Wheelbase (LWB) E-Class sedan following the implementation of GST 2.0. The restructuring of the tax regime for luxury cars has brought down the effective levies, resulting in customer savings of up to Rs 6 lakh on the popular executive saloon. The E-Class LWB is now priced at Rs 78.5 lakh for the E200, Rs 80.5 lakh for the E220d and Rs 91.7 lakh for the E450 4MATIC AMG Line. All prices are ex-showroom, India.<\/p>\n

Marking one year since the launch of the new-generation E-Class LWB in India, Mercedes-Benz has also introduced a new \u201cVerde Silver” paint option across all three variants. The sedan continues to be the best-selling luxury car in the country, with more than 62,000 units on Indian roads. Since its debut in October 2024, the sixth-generation model has won nine major automotive awards, including the ICOTY 2024 Luxury Sedan of the Year.<\/p>\n

The E-Class LWB is equipped with the third-generation MBUX Superscreen that comes with AI-powered personalisation and \u201cRoutines,” enabling the car to learn and automate frequently used comfort settings. Other standout features include an in-car selfie camera that can be used for video calls, a Burmester 4D Surround Sound System with Dolby Atmos, and extensive rear-seat comforts such as 36-degree reclining seats, extendable thigh support, and electrically operated blinds.<\/p>\n

On the safety front, the sedan is fitted with eight airbags, including India\u2019s first centre airbag in its segment. It also comes with Blind Spot Assist, Mercedes-Benz\u2019s Pre-Safe system, and Enhanced Agility Control suspension that has been specifically tuned for Indian road conditions.<\/p>\n

The Mercedes-Benz E200 is powered by a 1,999cc petrol engine that produces 204hp, along with an additional 23hp boost. It develops 320Nm of torque, supported by a 205Nm torque boost, enabling the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 7.5 seconds and achieve a top speed of 240 kmph. The E220d houses a 1,993cc diesel engine delivering 197hp with a 23hp boost and develops 440Nm of torque, with an additional 205Nm torque boost. It completes the 0 to 100 kmph sprint in 7.6 seconds and reaches a top speed of 238 kmph. The range-topping E450 4MATIC AMG Line uses a 2,999cc petrol engine that produces 381hp with an extra 23hp boost. It generates 500Nm of torque, plus a 205Nm torque boost, enabling the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.5 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 250 kmph.<\/p>\n

The E-Class LWB competes with the BMW 5 Series and Audi A6, both of which are also expected to witness tax-driven pricing revisions under GST 2.0. The model is locally manufactured at the Mercedes-Benz India plant in Chakan, Pune.<\/p>\n
