Punjab AAP MLA Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra, who is on the run after he was booked in a rape case, rejected police claims of being involved in opening fire at the cops who attempted to arrest him in Haryana and said that he fled due to the fear of \u201cfake encounter”.<\/p>\n

A team of the Anti-Gangster Task Force which is trained to carry out operations against notorious criminals has been tasked to nab Pathanmajra, news agency PTI reported, citing sources.<\/p>\n

The absconding AAP leader released a video message on Wednesday from an undisclosed location and alleged that he was being targeted by the \u201cDelhi lobby”, hinting at AAP\u2019s central leadership.<\/p>\n

He claimed that he absconded after learning that he would be killed in a \u201cfake encounter”.<\/p>\n

\u201cI never confronted the police. When they tried to fire at my car, I escaped by another route. I survived only by God\u2019s grace. I want to ask the police whether I confronted you or entered into a scuffle with you or fired any gunshot,” he said in the video.<\/p>\n

He slammed the \u201cDelhi lobby” and urged Punjab MLAs and ministers to unite against what he dubbed as attempts by \u201coutside forces to destabilise the state”.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf invaders like Abdali couldn\u2019t scare Punjab, how can Delhi\u2019s leaders suppress us?” he asked.<\/p>\n

The AGTF was using CCTV footage and mobile locations to trace the AAP MLA who escaped from custody on Tuesday amid gunshots and stone pelting by his supporters after a police team reached to arrest him in a rape case in the Dabri village in Haryana\u2019s Karnal district.<\/p>\n
