Dewald Brevis, fondly known as \u2018Baby AB\u2019, turned out to be Chennai Super Kings\u2019 trump card towards the business end of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The 5-time champions were already struggling in the season, while Gurjapneet Singh\u2019s injury further marred their campaign. That\u2019s when CSK signed Brevis as an injury replacement and the move paid off.<\/p>\n

Except for a single setback, against RCB (0), Brevis made a significant impact in the rest of his outings. In 6 matches for CSK, the 22-year-old hammered 13 fours and 17 sixes to garner 225 runs at a strike rate of 153. He also registered two half-centuries in the tournament.<\/p>\n

Reflecting on his CSK stint, Brevis shared his experiences with the Yellow Army. Speaking to AB de Villiers on YouTube, the youngster recalled his \u2018incredible\u2019 IPL experience.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll always remember like, whenever I tell people it\u2019s amazing. I had amazing times, my four years [in IPL]. It was incredible,” Brevis told De Villiers.<\/p>\n

The right-hand batter also opened up on his relationship with MS Dhoni, highlighting the humbleness of the legendary wicketkeeper-batter.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I had to go through all of the journey like it\u2019s been beautiful, and the one thing that I can just say from MS [Dhoni] is his humbleness and who he is as a person that stood out for me. How he is basically off the field, the time he has for players, for people,” Brevis added.<\/p>\n

Speaking about his spent with the former CSK captain in IPL 2025, Brevis said Dhoni\u2019s \u2018room door\u2019 is always open.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis room door is always open. If he\u2019s sleeping, that\u2019s the only time it\u2019s closed. And I found myself a few times in his room just sitting there with whatever he\u2019s busy like chatting to him about his hobbies, watching cricket, and yeah, that\u2019s just amazing and just to see how what he does like off the field and like everyone knows what he does on the field and at training and yeah just it\u2019s very special,” he concluded.<\/p>\n
