Sensex Today:<\/strong> Indian benchmark indices are set to open higher on Friday, tracking firm global cues, with GIFT Nifty futures also pointing to a positive start. At 7:30 AM, GIFT Nifty was trading 53 points higher at 24,880.<\/p>\n

Globally, investors await key data releases including the Fed\u2019s balance sheet, US payroll numbers, Japan\u2019s foreign reserves, and retail sales from Britain and Singapore. Domestically, foreign exchange reserves data will be in focus, along with \u201csin goods” stocks after the government said it will impose an additional levy on such items over and above the 40% tax, even after repayment of compensation cess loans.<\/p>\n

Global Cues<\/strong><\/p>\n

In Asia, markets traded higher after US President Donald Trump signed an executive order cutting Japanese auto import tariffs to 15% from 27.5%, while confirming a \\$550 billion Japanese investment commitment into US projects. Sentiment was also lifted by Trump\u2019s plan to impose tariffs on chip imports from companies that do not shift production to the US. Japan\u2019s Nikkei 225 gained 1.39%, South Korea\u2019s Kospi rose 0.26%, and Australia\u2019s S\\&P\/ASX 200 added 0.58%.<\/p>\n

On Wall Street, the S\\&P 500 hit a record high with a 0.80% gain, buoyed by labor data that reinforced expectations of a Fed rate cut ahead of the monthly jobs report. The Nasdaq Composite climbed 1%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced 0.90%.<\/p>\n
