Apple could have one last iOS 18 update for these models<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n

Apple is busy with the iPhone 17 launch next Tuesday, but the company has other things going behind the scenes. The iOS 26 release date is widely anticipated at the event next week, but before that, we could see older iPhones get one last iOS 18 update before they sail into the sunset.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The iOS 18.6 version was highly expected to be the last in the iteration but there are quite a few iPhone users who might feel unsafe without any official updates coming their way. Apple is likely to make sure that does not happen, and this is where the iOS 18.7 update could roll out soon.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

iOS 18.7 Update: One Last Hurrah?<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The details about the iOS 18.7 version has been shared by MacRumors, who expect this update to release at the same time as the iOS 26 release date. Unlike the new version, Apple is likely to focus on security issues plaguing the out-of-cycle iPhone models, and that\u2019s about it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The iOS 18.7 update, as the report<\/a> says, could be available for the iPhone Xs, iPhone XS Max and the iPhone XR models, all of which will not be upgradeable to iOS 26 this year. You will need the iPhone 11 or later model to get Liquid Glass design UI. This also means that we could see an iOS 18.7 beta version roll out in the next few days, as a final swansong to these outdated iPhone models.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The latest iPhone 17 Pro leak involves the supposed clear case that will be available in the market from Apple after the new models are launched on September 9.
