In a significant statement, Union Home Minister Amit Shah accused the Congress of giving Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) to Pakistan and vowed that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will take it back.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou conceded a portion of Kashmir to Pakistan, but rest assured, we are committed to reclaiming PoK,” Amit Shah said during his address in the Rajya Sabha. He also promised that Jammu and Kashmir would be free from Pakistan-sponsored terrorism.<\/p>\n

The minister dared terrorists to try as much as they can, adding that Pakistan fell to its knees and begged India to stop. \u201cWe targeted the heart of terrorism and terrorists. Surgical strikes and air strikes were on PoK- we targeted our very own land, according to people like me. But for the first time, we went inside Pakistan and reduced terror infrastructure to dust,” he added.<\/p>\n

He also said India could have taken PoK back after the 1971 conflict, when India had 93,000 Pakistani soldiers in captivity. \u201cCongress is responsible for the formation of PoK\u2026 Rahul Gandhi should not worry about PoK, the BJP will take it back,” he added.<\/p>\n

Shah said Pakistan was not afraid of India during the UPA regime as they kept sending dossiers to them, but it was the Modi government which gave them a befitting reply. He said Congress would have given a clean chit to Pakistan after the Pahalgam attack and stressed that the party had no right to ask questions from the BJP on terrorism.<\/p>\n

The Home Minister said India exercised its right to self-defence under the UN Charter, adding that the country had to right to dismantle terror infrastructure and stopped after Pakistan asked for a ceasefire. \u201cCongress has ruled the country for the longest time. We got terrorism, Naxalism and North east insurgency on which they did nothing,” he said.<\/p>\n

The debate on Operation Sindoor began in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday, while the Lok Sabha took up the discussion on Monday. The operation was launched in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack. PM Modi on Tuesday in Lok Sabha said no other country intervened and stopped India from carrying out the strikes on terror camps in Pakistan.<\/p>\n
